1819 News is an official partner of Talk 99.5 in Birmingham. The radio broadcast station will work with 1819 News on projects, events and content features.
Bryan Dawson, CEO and founder of 1819 News, said the partnership came after successful negotiations between the two companies.
"I could not be more excited for 1819 News to be the official news partner of Talk 99.5," Dawson said. "The reach of Talk 99.5 is unparalleled in the state, and when you combine that with the relentless pursuit of truth of 1819 News, you are sure to see massive civic and cultural change come from this partnership."
1819 News is already a partner with the biggest talk radio stations in other markets across the state.
Bluewater Broadcasting in Montgomery covers every major demographic and features 1819 News and its reporters. FM Talk 1065 in the Mobile market also features 1819 News.
Jeff Poor, who hosts "The Jeff Poor Show" on FM Talk 106.5, said radio is the perfect tool for reaching the 1819 News audience.
"Talk radio was the great equalizer in a liberal-dominated media and started with Rush Limbaugh in the late 1980s," Poor said. "The power and influence of the spoken word over the airwaves should not be underestimated. I know my listeners in Mobile appreciate what 1819 News has to offer. I hope the same will apply to Talk 99.5, which has a tremendous 100,000-watt signal, and its listeners in the Birmingham market."
With the latest partnership, 1819 News will participate in events in the Birmingham market with Talk 99.5, and 1819 News talent will occasionally guest host. Andrea Tice's daily news will be played daily to give listeners the latest headlines.
Dawson said when establishing partnerships, it was essential to foster relationships with companies committed to excellence in broadcasting and honest journalism.
Talk 99.5 program director Valerie Vining said she was equally excited about the partnership, which has been in the making for quite some time.
"I am truly excited about the partnership between WZRR-Talk 995 and 1819 News," Vining said. "These are two of the biggest and best sources of conservative news, information, and opinion in the state of Alabama and it only made sense to work together to grow both of our brands and cross-promote each of our platforms."
Talk 99.5 shows include “Dixon and Vining,” “News and Views” and “Leland Live.”
