The 2025 Ballin' on Belrose run and street party are shaping up to be one of the most successful events yet for 68 Ventures.

The event in Daphne will benefit the Baller Dream Foundation, which brings hope and support to children and young adults fighting cancer.

68 Ventures director of communications Kim Garrett said Frank DeBlasi founded the organization after his own cancer journey. She said 68 Ventures supports the Baller Dream Foundation because of its profound work.

"They do incredible work," said Garrett. "Whether it's paying for any financial needs, from creating amazing experiences. They call them 'Ballers,' so they're Ballers, and also bring community around the family so that these young adults, these children, these families don't feel like they're walking this alone, but they can have a community of people who are also walking the same road for support and for encouragement."

"They call it their ballerhood," she said. "So, 68 Ventures, we cover all the costs, so all the support that comes in from sponsorships and other things go directly to Baller Dream Foundation. Typically, it's been about 150,000 that's been given."

68 Ventures CEO Nathan Cox told 1819 News it is important for his company to take the time to give back to those who help others.

In 2024, the event raised $155,000. So, this year, the goal is $200,000.

Ballin' on Belrose will be held on Saturday, May 10.

Participants will walk or run up and down Belrose Avenue in Daphne 11 times, for a total of five miles uphill. The total mileage is about 10.5 miles. The distance of 29,029 feet uphill represents the height of Mount Everest.

"They get the coveted finisher hat and also will have awards for our top finishers as well," Garrett added.

"It will be truly a celebration, a street party," she said.

There will also be a play area for kids, along with activities. Garrett said the event is fun for the whole family. You can register as a team or as an individual online.

Baller Dream Foundation operates in Alabama, Arizona, California, Nevada, New Jersey and New York.
