Three players with Alabama connections were chosen in the second and third rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.
All three of these players were members of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kool-Aid McKinstry - Cornerback (Alabama)
The New Orleans Saints selected McKinstry with the ninth pick in the second round (No. 41 pick overall). McKinstry was the fifth cornerback selected in the draft and the second Crimson Tide cornerback to be taken.
McKinstry was a three-year starter for the Crimson Tide. The Pinson native totaled 93 tackles, 23 pass deflections, two sacks, and two interceptions.
Chris Braswell - Edge (Alabama)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Braswell with the 26th pick in the second round (No. 57 pick overall). Braswell was the sixth edge selected in the draft and the second Alabama edge to be taken.
Throughout three seasons with the Crimson Tide, the Baltimore, Maryland native recorded 76 tackles, two pass deflections, 11 sacks, one interception, and four forced fumbles.
Jermaine Burton - Wide receiver (Alabama)
The Cincinnati Bengals selected Burton with the 16th pick in the third round (No. 80 pick overall). Burton was the 13th wide receiver selected in the draft.
Burton played two seasons for the Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to Alabama for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. During his time with the Crimson Tide, Burton caught 79 passes for 1,475 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Alabama has seen six players taken so far while the only player connected to Auburn to be selected at this point is Bo Nix.
The remaining four rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft will take place on Saturday.
