Kalen DeBoer’s first road test at Alabama was a success as the No. 4 Crimson Tide rolled to a 42-10 victory over Wisconsin.

The Crimson Tide went on the road and thrived on both sides of the ball to remain undefeated heading into their showdown against No. 1 Georgia in two weeks.

Here are a few takeaways from the game.

  1. Williams Keeps Streak Alive

If you haven’t heard yet, Ryan Williams is only 17 and should be a senior in high school, but his game looks like he is a fifth-year senior. Milroe connected with Williams four times for 78 yards and a touchdown to extend his consecutive weeks with a touchdown to three. Williams has been electric this season, totaling four touchdowns on the year and leading Alabama in receiving yards with a touchdown in all three games.

  1. Milroe Looked Comfortable

Jalen Milroe is at his best when he plays loose and is decisive with what he wants to do with the ball. On Saturday, the coaching staff put him in excellent situations, and he looked comfortable running the plays. Designed runs and read options where Milroe kept the ball kept the Wisconsin defense on their toes the entire game. Once Milroe had the defense’s eyes on him, he was able to air it out to his receivers for explosive plays. The quarterback tallied up five touchdowns on the day and led Alabama in both passing and rushing.

  1. Offensive Line

Starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor was finally able to get his first snaps after missing the first two weeks with a shoulder injury. It was noticeable how much of a difference his presence makes on the line. Penalties were cleaned up to just two penalties on the offensive line, a major improvement from last week. The line opened up huge holes in the run game and did a great job in pass protection, giving Milroe plenty of time to find his targets.

  1. Pass Rush

The Crimson Tide defense was only credited with two sacks on the day, but they were consistently getting great push up front disrupting the quarterback for Wisconsin. LT Overton and Quandarrius Robinson recorded sacks for Alabama as well as forced fumbles. Overton’s name was called a bunch this afternoon, recording six tackles and a breakup to go along with his sack and forced fumble.

  1. Big Booms From Burnip

James Burnip was not called upon much on Saturday, but he made the most of it when he had the chance. Burnip punted the ball four times and averaged 53 yards per kick with a long of 64. His high and long kicks helped flip the field, pinning the Badgers inside the 20 three times on the day.

Alabama will have a week off before opening up SEC play against Georgia in Tuscaloosa September 28 at 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ABC.
