Central Alabama Crimestoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the 2016 homicide of Rickem Samuels.
Samuels, 20, was found dead on June 30, 2016, after being reported missing on April 4, 2016. His body was found in the 300 block of South Hopper Street, not far from Crampton Bowl. The cause of death was never determined, but police have called the death a murder.
According to records, Samuels was last seen on April 2, getting into a black Nissan Versa at the Eastern Boulevard Walmart in Montgomery.
Samuels had been working at Glovis America, a Hyundai shipment company. His supervisor, Nanette Thomas, was reported missing less than a week after Samuels, and she was never located. The two cases have been featured on podcasts and investigative shows nationwide.
The Montgomery District Attorney’s Cold Case Task Force is now investigating.
