Monday on Fox Business Network's "The Evening Edit," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) criticized former President Joe Biden for his lack of leadership when it came to Iran.

Tuberville, who is running for governor of Alabama, compared the "absolutely pitiful" leadership during the Biden administration, with no true pushback against the Iranian regime, to President Donald Trump, who Tuberville said was setting a new tone of strength when it comes to protecting the United States and its allies.

"Well, my first four years, Jason, here, were under Joe Biden, and the leadership of our military was absolutely pitiful. There was no leadership," he told host Jason Chaffetz. "I can remember when we were having problems with Iran. The only threat that they gave back to Iran was 'don't.' 'Don't do it.' What the heck does that mean? President Trump, Pete Hegseth have set the new tone of our country: do not mess with Americans, do not mess with our military, do not mess with our military, do not mess with the taxpayers of this country, and do not mess with our allies."

"You know, they're doing something that should have been done a long time ago," Tuberville continued. "You know, 47 years of war is enough. The conflict, this won't last very long. I think Israel might stay a lot longer than us, but President Trump set the tone. And again, we've had a regime change, we're trying to knock out everything they have to build a nuclear weapon, and that was the purpose of going in there day one."
