Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith filed a revised indictment on Tuesday in the federal government’s case against former President Donald Trump.
A hearing in the case is scheduled for September 5, roughly two months before the November election. The federal government alleges Trump undertook a criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 election. Trump pleaded not guilty to a previous indictment.

U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) said the new indictment was an example of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris weaponizing the Justice Department.
Jack Smith just got new indictments against @realDonaldTrump two months before the election. Yet, we are told that if Donald Trump wins, he will be the one to weaponize the Justice Department. He would have to work real hard to weaponize it more than Biden/Harris have.
