During an appearance on Fox Business Network's "The Evening Edit," U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), a 2026 GOP gubernatorial candidate, urged patience on the so-called affordability issue and Trump administration economic policies.
Tuberville blamed former President Joe Biden for the current hardships, predicting tangible results in the new year.
"[P]resident Trump has energy dominance coming back," he said. "It will tend to pay more dividends as we go. It doesn't happen overnight, folks. Affordability is coming. Just give it time. We had no chance under Biden. We've got all the chance in the world under Trump."
"[H]e knows exactly what he's been doing for the last 9-10 months," Tuberville added. "He's got a great group behind the scenes that are working on all of this with the tariffs, getting prices down. The Biden administration almost destroyed our economy. And so when you get to that point, you have to put a repair job on it, and it doesn't happen overnight. So, he'll go to several different states, campaigning for congressmen, senators and local officials on the simple fact that folks — give it time in the spring at the latest. Prices are going to continue to go down. They been going up just because of President Biden's policies. President Trump has great policies."
