Alabama Agriculture Commissioner candidate Christina Woerner McInnis posted a cryptic message on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.
"Politics — the good, the bad… and the ugly. Today was ugly," Woerner McInnis wrote. "What I've learned is that people want to see you smiling everywhere — but the truth is, I faced ugly early in politics. A predator threatened me and my children. And now I've learned he has done the same to many other women."

"I chose to protect my children — and hopefully prevent more victims. In Alabama, you cannot threaten others and walk away from it."
McInnis's campaign told 1819 News that Clate Clark, of Mobile, pleaded guilty to harassment charges in Baldwin County after harassing and threatening her and her daughters. Clark allegedly created more than 27 fake profiles to target McInnis and other women online.
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, Orange Beach Police Department and the FBI investigated.
Clark was sentenced to 90 days, with seven days to be served. McInnis has also obtained a restraining order against him.
Baldwin County Sheriff Anthony Lowery said while the charge is a misdemeanor, harassing others is a serious crime that the sheriff's office takes very seriously.
