Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced the indictment of a Florence man on four counts of capital murder, including an unborn child.

Travis Eric Fallows, 35, is currently being held without bail in Colbert County for a series of murders that occurred nearly a decade ago.

Following an investigation by Marshall’s Investigations Division and the Muscle Shoals Police Department, the Criminal Trials Division presented evidence to a Colbert County grand jury on July 31, resulting in this indictment. Specifically, the indictment charges Fallows with one count of capital murder for the deaths of two or more persons and three individual counts of capital murder for the January 2015 shooting deaths of Gary Baskins, Kayla Glover and Kayla Glover’s unborn child, while they were inside a vehicle.

In 2018, Alabama became the first state in the nation to engrain fetal personhood into the state Constitution, recognizing “the rights of the unborn child,” including the right to life. The law means that Fallows can be charged with murder in the case of an unborn child. Fallows faces the death penalty or life imprisonment.
