Agriculture leaders from 55 counties have joined a coalition in support of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s bid for U.S. Senate.

Marshall’s campaign announced on Monday the launch of “Farmers for Marshall,” following the endorsement from the Alabama Farmers Federation’s FarmPAC last week.

“Steve Marshall has worked tirelessly to earn the respect and trust of Alabama’s farmers,” said Alabama Farmers Federation President Jimmy Parnell. “He understands our challenges and shares our values. We’re proud to endorse him because we know he’ll be a strong voice for Alabama’s farmers in the United States Senate.”

Doug Roberts, owner of Roberts Farm in Baldwin County, said Marshall would help undo the damaging policies enacted by the Biden administration at “a critical time for Alabama's agriculture industries.”

Chad Smith, co-owner of Smith Tomato in St. Clair County, said Marshall was the "agriculture champion we need" to fight for farmers in Washington.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Alabama Farmers Federation and so many hardworking farmers across Alabama,” Marshall said. "Our farms are the lifeblood of this state and our nation—they feed our families, fuel our economy and represent the best of who we are. In the Senate, I’ll be a strong voice for Alabama farmers and fight every day to protect their way of life.”

Marshall plans to expand the coalition to all 67 counties in Alabama. The 55 counties currently represented include:
