Lieutenant Gov. Will Ainsworth is calling for an immediate end to a Biden administration program that is flooding Alabama towns with Haitian migrants.

Ainsworth posted a letter on X Wednesday addressed to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas calling on him to halt the Cuba-Haiti-Nicaragua-Venezuela (CHNV) Parole Program.

"The [program], which was created and implemented by the Biden-Harris administration, is adversely affecting cities and towns across Alabama, and on behalf of the five million Alabamians I swore an oath to serve, this letter is my formal request that you end it immediately," Ainsworth wrote.

He said the CHNV program has allowed roughly 520,000 illegal aliens to enter the United States, 80% of which have landed in Florida, giving "human traffickers and sponsors a direct pipeline to Alabama."

"This program, which lacks any form of congressional authorization, has intentionally and illegally provided an expressway for wrongfully authorized individuals from these four nations to enter our country and unfairly compete for jobs and housing in our state," Ainsworth said in his letter, adding that the "secretive and erratic handling" of the program has left many Alabamaians feeling "more fearful" and "less secure."

Due to the "havoc, uncertainty, concern, and social disruption" caused by the CHNV program, Ainsworth said Mayorkas was "obligated" to answer his five questions:

1. Can you provide a list of sponsors?

2. Are you checking the sponsors to ensure they are complying with the laws in the State of Alabama, so they can be adhered to?

3. How are you tracking the sponsors and migrants after they enter the United States? Are you following up with the sponsors or parolees?

4. How much federal money is flowing to the migrants and who is distributing the funds? Is it being funneled through non-government organizations?

5. How are these practices helping the good people of Alabama co-exist with the flow of President Biden's imported parolees as it relates to the ability to obtain and maintain jobs and affordable housing?

"The Biden-Harris administration has created, and your office has allowed, an environment that is ripe for chaos, crime and the depletion of state resources," Ainsworth continued. "The HIV rate is soaring, unlicensed drivers are having accidents, insurance rates are up and our schools are being flooded with non-English speaking students whose teachers are not equipped to serve them."

Ainsworth again called for the CHNV program to be "permanently dismantled" and for steps to warn states of "such treachery from federal officials" in the future.
