On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) announced he has gained the endorsement of Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth heading into Alabama's Republican Senate runoff election.

In a statement of support, Ainsworth praised the legislator's established conservative reputation and Christian faith.

"Barry Moore is the conservative fighter Alabama needs in the United States Senate to carry on Coach Tuberville's legacy," Ainsworth stated. "Barry stands tall for his Christian faith, and he has consistently given Washington, D.C., a good dose of our conservative Alabama values."

The lieutenant governor noted Moore's "determination" to take on corruption in Washington, D.C.

"A true outsider who fights to lower our taxes, Barry has stood with President Trump to drain the Swamp since day one," Ainsworth outlined. "I served alongside Barry in the Alabama House and witnessed firsthand his determination to take on the establishment, roll back regulatory overreach, and return everyday common sense to the way our government operates."

"I'm proud to endorse Barry Moore for U.S. Senate because I know he'll continue to always put Alabama and our nation's interests first," he added.

Moore thanked Ainsworth for the endorsement.

"Like Lt. Governor Ainsworth, I've spent my career fighting for Alabama's conservative values, standing with President Donald J. Trump, and putting Alabama first," said Moore. "I'm grateful for Will's support and look forward to continuing that fight in the United States Senate."

Alabama's Republican Senate runoff election is scheduled for June 16. Moore will be facing off against former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson.
