Approximately an hour after a campus alert was issued about a potential bomb threat, officials with Alabama A&M University gave the all clear to its students, staff and faculty following a short investigation into the matter.
The school announced the threat in a Facebook post, urging those on campus to avoid the JF Drake LRC area.
"University officials and safety authorities are aware of a bomb threat received by Alabama A&M University," the HBCU initially announced. "Students, faculty, and staff please stay clear of the JF Drake LRC area as the situation is investigated. Please monitor Bulldog Alerts and campus emails for further information and updates."
A short time later, it said that there was "no immediate threat" to the campus and normal operations would resume. Officials asked those on campus to remain "safety aware" and monitor Bulldog Alerts and AAMU emails for updates.
"An all clear has been issued for Alabama A&M University. There is no immediate threat to campus, and normal operations may now resume. Please remain safety aware and monitor Bulldog Alerts and AAMU emails for updates," the university wrote.
