Alabama took advantage of free passes and timely hitting in a 7-3 win over Troy on Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide didn't waste any time getting on the board. After Bryce Fowler and Justin Lebron were both hit by pitches in the bottom of the first, catcher Luke Vaughn drove a sacrifice fly to center field to bring Fowler home for an early 1-0 lead.

Alabama extended its lead, adding three more runs in the bottom of the second. Jason Torres started the second inning scoring with a solo shot to left field. Later in the inning, Lebron drove in a pair with a single through the left side of the infield.

Troy put their first run on the board in the third inning, cutting the lead to three, but Alabama responded with a run in the fifth to extend the lead back to four. The Trojans cut the lead to two runs in the top of the sixth, but the Crimson Tide responded with a run in the sixth and seventh to reach what would be the final score 7-3.

Bobby Alcock recorded his second win of the season, allowing one earned run on four hits in three innings of work. Alcock also struck out four batters before handing it over to the bullpen. Four Crimson Tide relievers finished the remaining six innings, allowing just one earned run on one hit, striking out six batters along the way.

Justin Lebron and Jason Torres led the Alabama offense with two RBI each. Lebron finished with two hits while Torres’ only hit was his solo home run in the second inning.

Alabama will travel to #21 Kentucky for a weekend series, beginning Friday at 5:30 p.m.
