Alabama basketball has received a bid to the NCAA men’s basketball Tournament for the sixth consecutive season.
During the CBS bracket reveal show on Sunday, Alabama was revealed as the No. 4 seed in the Midwest region. The Crimson Tide will play its first-round game in Tampa, Fla., on Friday against the No. 13 seed Hofstra. Alabama will find out the tip-off time and which network will be televising Friday’s game later Sunday night.
If the Crimson Tide get past Hofstra, they will face the winner of No. 5 seed Texas Tech and No. 12 seed Akron on Sunday in Tampa.
Sweet 16 and Elite 8 matchups would be played in Chicago, Ill., on March 27 and 29 if Alabama is fortunate enough to make it that far. A potential Sweet 16 opponent would be the No. 1 seed of the Midwest bracket, Michigan.
Alabama's current streak of six consecutive NCAA tournament appearances ties its 1982-1987 run as the longest in program history, held by Wimp Sanderson-led teams.
Under head coach Nate Oats, Alabama has made the NCAA Tournament all six years and has earned a top-6 seed. Oats has led the Crimson Tide to Sweet 16 appearances in four of the past five years, including Elite Eight appearances the past two years. In 2024, Oats led Alabama to the program’s only Final Four appearance.
The Crimson Tide finished the season 23-9 overall and 13-5 in SEC play. Alabama was eliminated in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday by Ole Miss.
