A talented songwriter from Alabama has been nominated for five Dove Awards, the awards for the Gospel Music Association (GMA).

Jonathan Gamble, who moved to Nashville in 2019, writes worship, country, EDM and pop hits. Gamble, who graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in marketing, served in the music ministry in several east Alabama Baptist churches before relocating to Music City. He signed with Capitol in December 2021.

Gamble wrote the viral hit “Counting My Blessings” by Seph Schlueter and has earned two additional number one hits with Jamie McDonald’s “Desperate” and Leanna Crawford’s “Still Waters (Psalm 23)”.

According to Capitol Christian Music Group, Gamble has also worked with Lauren Watkins, Danny Gokey, Jesus Culture, Josiah Queen, Ben Fuller, MaRynn Taylor and Tauren Wells, among others.

Gamble received five nominations, including Songwriter of the Year, two Song of the Year nominations and two Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year nominations, for the 2025 Dove Awards, which will be held Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena. It will air Friday on TBN.
