Al Sharpton will join Alabama Democrats for a march in Montgomery on Wednesday ahead of Juneteenth.

According to a fundraising email sent on Wednesday morning by the Alabama Democratic Party, the march will take place in Montgomery on Wednesday afternoon with Sharpton and Alabama Democrats chair Randy Kelley.

“Alabama Democrats are standing shoulder to shoulder with community leaders, clergy, and civil rights champions in Montgomery — because the fight for justice is far from over,” an Alabama Democratic Party spokesperson said in the email.

“The march will begin at the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel and continue to the steps of the Alabama Capitol — a powerful reminder that our state is still at the heart of the struggle for civil rights in America," the spokesman added. "We’re marching today to honor the past — and to demand progress for the future. From voting rights to economic justice, reproductive freedom to public education, the Alabama Democratic Party is in this fight every single day. But we can’t do it alone.”
