The University of Alabama's time as the top basketball team in the nation lasted only one week.

Following a road loss to then-No. 10 Tennessee and a bounce-back blowout win over unranked Georgia, the Crimson Tide fell to No. 2 in this week's Associated Press top 25 college basketball poll. Houston, which Alabama beat earlier this season when the Cougars were No. 1 in the nation, again sits atop the AP poll.

The Tide go on the road Wednesday to South Carolina and return home Saturday to host Arkansas.

Auburn, which has been ranked for much of the season, failed to receive any votes for the second week in a row after a blowout victory over Missouri and a close loss to Vanderbilt.

The Tigers are now 2-6 in their last eight games and face Ole Miss on Wednesday at home and travel to Kentucky on Saturday as they look to stay in NCAA Tournament discussion.
