Alabama FarmPAC, the political action committee of the Alabama Farmers Federation (ALFA), announced on Thursday its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) for U.S. Senate.
Moore will be on the ballot June 16 for a Republican primary runoff election against former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson. ALFA previously endorsed Attorney General Steve Marshall for Senate, but he finished a close third on Tuesday in the primary and didn’t advance to the runoff.
ALFA president Jimmy Parnell said Moore’s strong track record supporting farmers and rural Alabama spoke volumes to FarmPAC trustees.
“Our grassroots structure is all about relationships, and Barry Moore gets that,” Parnell said. “From his time in the Alabama House to serving Alabama in the nation’s capital, Barry has kept people at the forefront of his work. He’s stood strong on tough issues and remembered the people who elected him. Barry understands the challenges our farm and rural communities face and has continually proven that during his tenure on the House Ag Committee. He is poised to be a fighter for Alabama in the U.S. Senate. We are pleased to support Barry Moore June 16 and beyond.”
Moore said he was pleased to earn the support of Alabama farmers, underscoring their shared values of faith, family, hard work and integrity.
“Alabama producers deserve a government that comes alongside them, not one that rides on their back,” said Moore. “In Congress, I’ve pushed back on federal overreach, supported efforts to expand market access and worked to keep family farms in business for the next generation. That work won’t stop when I get to the Senate. I’m grateful for the support of the Alabama Farmers Federation, and I look forward to continuing to be a voice for Alabama producers in Washington.”
