U.S. Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) said they were praying for the victims of a recent school shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

The shooting by Robin Westman, a transgender, left two children dead and at least 17 others injured. A video believed to have been posted by the shooter shows “kill Donald Trump” and “for the children” scrawled on gun magazines, according to the New York Post.

Tuberville said on X, “My thoughts and prayers are with victims and loved ones hurt by the tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis.”

Britt said on X, “Wesley and I are praying for the victims of the horrific shooting in Minneapolis, their loved ones, and their community.”

“I’m grateful for the brave first responders at the scene,” she added.

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said, “I hope you will join Heather and I in praying for the victims of the horrific shooting in Minneapolis and their loved ones.”

“May God be with them,” Moore said.

U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham) said, “My heart breaks for the students, teachers, and families of Annunciation Catholic School. What should have been a time of joy, learning, and prayer has once again become a nightmare. My thoughts are with the families of those lost and the entire Minneapolis community.”

“Congress cannot continue to sit by as innocent lives are taken and our schools and places of worship are turned into war zones. We must act to end gun violence and we must do it NOW,” Sewell said.
