The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) announced it has endorsed incumbent Republican State Sen. Tom Butler (Madison) for reelection in State Senate District 2.
The Alabama Forestry Association is one of the largest state forestry associations in the country with membership that includes forestry products manufacturers, landowners, loggers, wood dealers, foresters, consultants, and others involved in forestry. AFA is dedicated to protecting and improving the business, regulatory and legal environment for landowners and forest business owners to ensure the sustainable growth of Alabama’s forests and forest industry.
“Tom’s long tenure in Montgomery not only helps his constituents, but his community in North Alabama that he serves so diligently,” said AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson. “We are looking forward to another four years with Senator Butler in the senate and AFA is excited to support his reelection bid.”
“I am elated for the endorsement from the Forestry Association,” said Butler. “AFA has members that contribute to the Alabama economy more than anyone else in the state. Where new houses are popping up in my district, the timber industry plays a vital role in making sure those homes happen. I look forward to continuing growing the industry in the state.”
State Senate District 2 covers parts of Madison and Limestone counties.
The Republican primary election is on May 24, 2022.
