We have a new frontrunner in Alabama's Senate race, according to polling results from an Alabama Forestry PAC survey of 500 respondents conducted from May 2 through May 5.
The survey respondents were split three ways between text, landline and cell phone and showed former Business Council of Alabama President and CEO Katie Britt at 38.6%, U.S. Army veteran Mike Durant at 27.4% and U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) at 22% with 12% of respondents undecided.
The survey also found broad support for the 2021 Aniah's Law passed by the Alabama Legislature and efforts to stymy human trafficking.
The poll was weighted with the sample most from the Birmingham media market at 41%, 22% from the Huntsville market, 10.8% from the Montgomery and Meridian, MS market, 14.4% from the Mobile market, 6.8% from the Dothan market and 4.4% from the Columbus, Georgia and Atlanta markets.
Alabama Republican voters will have an opportunity to select their preference for the November ballot in the May 24 GOP primary.
