The Alabama Grocers Association endorsed U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) for U.S. Senate on Tuesday.
Other qualified candidates in the race include Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, Rodney Walker, Jared Hudson, Seth Burton and Dale Shelton Deas, Jr.
“America’s grocery industry depends on strong supply chains, sensible regulation, and leaders who understand how federal policy affects families at the checkout counter,” said Ellie Taylor, president/CEO of the Alabama Grocers Association. ”Through his work on the House Agriculture Committee and his support for farmers and small businesses, Congressman Barry Moore has demonstrated a commitment to policies that strengthen our food system and reduce unnecessary burdens on employers. Due to his leadership, the Alabama Grocers Association is proud to endorse Barry Moore for the United States Senate, and we look forward to continuing to work with him on policies that keep grocery shelves stocked and food affordable for Alabama families.”
The primary is on May 19.
”I appreciate the work that Alabama grocers do to put food on the table in every community in our state,” Moore said. “As the consumer-facing side of agriculture, they are a key part of Alabama’s largest industry. I thank them for their support and look forward to working with them in the United States Senate.”
