The University of Alabama football team is holding steady at No. 8 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) top 25 ranking.

With no slip-ups from the teams rated over the Crimson Tide in last week's initial CFP top 25, Alabama stayed in the same spot after defeating then-No. 14 LSU on Saturday.

Alabama has wins over No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 13 Tennessee. The Tide's only loss this season was against No. 7 Texas.

The top four teams in the country make the CFP to determine the national champion. The top four ranked teams are currently No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Florida State.

Should Alabama win out the rest of the regular season, it would likely face No. 2 Georgia, reigning back-to-back national champions, in the SEC Championship.

This Saturday, the Tide travel to unranked Kentucky in an 11 a.m. kickoff. ESPN will carry the broadcast.

No other teams from Alabama made the CFP top 25.
