Marine Vietnam veteran and retired Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) special agent George Williams has spent his life in service of the United States. Now, as the chairman of the Alabama Minority Republican Party (GOP), Williams has a message in the wake of the Charlie Kirk assassination.

"I'm seeing that Republicans and conservatives, even independents, are finally realizing the damage that the Democrats have been and are doing to our country, the United States, and it's very dangerous what they're doing," Williams told 1819 News. "We're finally realizing and we're finally standing up to them."

After meeting Kirk at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee last summer, Williams said what Kirk was doing was effective. He hopes the mission does not end with Kirk's death.

"We cannot let his assassination stop us," said Williams. "Just like when President [Donald] Trump was shot. Okay? We didn't let that stop us."

Williams said he is hopeful for the future. He said there are more and more blacks and Hispanics coming out against the lies and rhetoric spread by the Democratic Party.

The Alabama Minority GOP is working with the Alabama Republican Party on outreach to young blacks and Hispanics. However, Williams said the challenge is that often black people who support the Republican Party, including himself, are being threatened.

"Now they know they have to get nerves and not be afraid of what these idiots are doing," said Williams. "To me, they're being led by the Democratic Party."

Williams said as a former DEA agent who helped secure the United States borders, he is concerned about the Democrats who seemingly side with illegal immigrants. He is also concerned about what universities and colleges are teaching young people. That's why he said what Kirk was doing was so important.

"Charlie is the one who awakened the students," said Williams. "We have a lot of foreign professors in our colleges, and they are spreading the negative word about America. They're here, but yet and still, they are spreading the negative words to the students."

To young people, Williams said, "Don't listen to that. Don't listen to those idiots who are talking negatively about America."

Williams urged young people to think for themselves and not be swayed by lies about the GOP.

"If the Republican Party is racist, how did I become the number two man in the Alabama Republican Party two years after I arrived back to Alabama?" Williams added.

The Alabama Minority GOP is proactively entering black communities to outline issues that members have identified with the Democratic Party. Williams said he is not scared and will not back down.
