On Monday, the Associated Press released its first top 25 poll of the 2023 college football season.

The University of Alabama debuted at No. 4 in the poll, the lowest preseason AP ranking for the Tide since 2009, when they opened the season at No. 5.

The Crimson Tide trailed only No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Michigan and No. 3 Ohio State in the poll.

In the poll, Georgia had 60 first place votes, Michigan had two first place votes and Ohio State had one. Alabama received zero first place votes.
