Jalen Milroe’s run as Alabama’s starting quarterback officially comes to an end.

The redshirt junior announced on social media Thursday that he would be entering his name in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Football has always been my passion, and since I was a kid, I dreamed of competing at the highest level,” Milroe said in his announcement. "Through every win, every tough loss, and any criticism along the way, my love and dedication to this game has never wavered. Every day, my gratitude for the opportunity to play this sport I love only grows stronger. With that said, I am declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.”

Milroe recently finished his redshirt junior season, completing 64.5% of his passes for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. On the ground, he led the team with 726 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, setting Alabama's single-season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback, surpassing Jalen Hurts' previous record of 20 in 2016. He also was the recipient of the William V. Campbell Trophy, which most consider to be the academic Heisman.

Over four seasons at Alabama, Milroe played in 38 games, starting 26 of them. He passed for 6,016 yards, 45 touchdowns and 20 interceptions, with a completion rate of 64%. The dynamic dual-threat quarterback also accumulated 1,579 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns on 375 carries.

According to ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper’s big board, Milroe is rated the No. 3 quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft. His early departure leaves Alabama with three scholarship quarterbacks, Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and incoming freshman Keelon Russell.
