With three Alabama receivers already in the NCAA transfer portal, Alabama will be pleased to bring back a big piece of their receiving corps as Jermaine Burton plans to return for his senior season.

The Georgia transfer joined the Crimson Tide this past offseason after leading the Georgia receivers with 497 receiving yards on 26 receptions and five touchdowns. Burton ranked second on the team this season with Alabama with 590 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 37 catches. After a fairly slow start, Burton emerged as one of Bryce Young's favorite receivers. Over the last three games of the season, Burton totaled 265 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 15 catches.

The return of a veteran receiver like Burton is huge for the Crimson Tide after Christian Leary, Traeshon Holden and JoJo Earle entered the transfer portal earlier this week. This season, the trio was responsible for 492 yards and eight touchdowns on 38 receptions.

Alabama is also poised to return their leading receiver Ja'Corey Brooks, who led the team with 623 yards and seven touchdowns on 37 receptions. Both Brooks and Burton will be expected to lead an otherwise young receiving corps of returning freshman receivers that showed promise this season. The freshman trio of Kobe Prentice, Isaiah Bond and Kendrick Law combined for 607 receiving yards on 54 catches. With a season of experience under their belts, the Alabama receiving group should be much improved next season.
