The Crimson Tide came into Monday night needing just one win out of two against Texas Tech and couldn’t get the job done. Alabama’s season came to a close with a 2-0 loss to Texas Tech.

Alabama ran into one of the nation’s best offenses and did a good enough job of keeping them in check, but the offense was unable to put a run across the board.

Both teams were held scoreless until the fourth inning when Texas Tech took a 1-0 lead on a solo home run.

In the seventh inning, Texas Tech drove in another runner to extend the lead to 2-0.

Alabama did an excellent job of stranding base runners, forcing the Red Raiders to leave 11 runners on base, but it was not enough to win the game.

The Crimson Tide were unable to solve Texas Tech pitcher Nija Canady as she cruised through the Alabama lineup, striking out six batters and allowing just two hits in seven innings of shutout ball for the win.

Salen Hawkins and Audrey Vandagriff were the only Alabama batters to get a hit off Canady. Hawkins delivered a single in the third while Vandagriff recorded a double in the seventh.

Jocelyn Briski was handed just her fourth loss of the season, pitching five innings, allowing one run on eight hits. Vic Molten finished the final two innings for the Crimson Tide, allowing one run on two hits.
