Another college football has passed, and the University of Alabama football team continues to sit behind a logjam in the Associated Press top 25 college football poll.
This is the fourth consecutive week in a row the Crimson Tide have been ranked eighth in the poll.
On Saturday, No. 8 Alabama beat Chattanooga 66-10 in a tune-up game ahead of the Iron Bowl.
The Tide are still one spot behind No. 7 Texas, which holds the head-to-head matchup victory from earlier this season. Alabama still has a path into the College Football Playoff, should the Tide beat Auburn and then Georgia in the SEC Championship, although nothing is certain.
There was some flip-flopping of teams ahead of Alabama, as Ohio State leapfrogged Michigan to become the second-ranked team. Florida State also dropped out of the top four, swapping with Washington.
The top four rated teams this week are No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 Washington.
ESPN will unveil the newest College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday. The top four teams after conference championship weekend will play for the title.
No. 8 Alabama is set to square off with in-state rival Auburn in the 88th iteration of the Iron Bowl. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on CBS.
