The official trailer for the concerts reads as follows:
This unique, free concert series brings together classical music and a casual, laid-back atmosphere at local bars and breweries. Join us at Cahaba Brewing Co. or Monday Night Brewing for a night of great food, drinks, and a live performance by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra that’s sure to be one-of-a-kind! Whether you’re a seasoned symphony-goer or new to classical music, this intimate setting offers a fun and relaxed way to experience world-class music.
Don’t miss out on this special night—grab your friends, enjoy some local brews, and immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening of music.
One purpose of the Tunes on Tap concerts is to bring the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and their music to an additional venue than the older, theater-going crowd. In the local breweries, the free concerts reach a new audience, mostly younger and more informal.
The ASO began as a volunteer orchestra in 1921. It is now the state’s only full-time orchestra with concerts throughout Alabama and educational performances in addition to seasons in Birmingham.
You'll want to get there early on April 3 or May 8 to get a seat. Though the seats are free, they're popular and expected to fill up quickly.
