On Monday, the Albertville Police Department announced the arrest of six individuals as part of an undercover child exploitation operation. Three of the suspects were found to be in the country illegally and were placed on a detainer with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
For allegedly traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation of a child, APD arrested:
- Jeremy Andrew Cockrell, 24, of Wellington
- Hernan Flores Ramirez, 25, of Huntsville
- Charles Allen Parker, 44, of Jacksonville
- Salvador Ramirez Resendiz, 23, of Huntsville
- Dustin Shane Sims, 44, of Boaz
- Roberto Salvador, 43, of Boaz
Each was placed in the Marshall County Jail on a $1 million bond. Ramirez, Resendiz and Salvador were later identified as illegal aliens and put on an ICE detainer, assistant chief John Amos told 1819 News.
"These arrests stem from a proactive undercover operation in which suspects engaged in online communications with individuals they believed to be minors," APD stated. "Upon arranging to meet for illicit purposes, they were apprehended by law enforcement officers. This operation demonstrates our commitment to protecting children and pursuing justice for the most vulnerable members of our community."
APD stated that it partnered with the Covenant Rescue Group to carry out the operation.
