The Albertville Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a man at an Exxon gas station off U.S. Highway 431.
The shooting happened Wednesday morning when two family members got into an altercation.
Investigators believe Saleh Mohammed Munassar, 29, of Owens Crossroads, shot Khirellah Musa Gelan, 28, of Decatur. Gelan suffered a single gunshot wound to the lower body. He was transported to the hospital and later released.
Munassar was taken into custody on an attempted murder charge and placed in the Albertville City Jail. That charge is currently being formalized.
Police Chief J.T. Cartee said the suspect and victim are affiliated with the gas station.
After Munassar's initial appearance in court, he will be transferred to the Marshall County Jail.
