Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) officials announced ALDOTNews.com, an online news hub launched today by ALDOT on Monday.

According to ALDOT, the digital news source provides “timely information about the projects, programs and people of ALDOT.”

The home page will feature articles on ALDOT news. At the top of the page, the Projects & Programs link will take readers to a map where they can find details about active road projects in their area. The schedule of public involvement meetings, traffic information, live traffic camera feeds will also be available on the site.

Answers to many frequently asked questions related to transportation in Alabama can be found in the FAQ section of ALDOTNews. Users will also have access to information on how to report a road concern and where to find ALDOT reports and other documents, according to ALDOT.

“We are pleased to provide ALDOTNews to Alabamians as the primary source of state transportation news,” Media and Community Relations Bureau Chief Tony Harris said in a statement. “We believe this new initiative will help people stay better informed of the projects designed to enhance quality of life and economic success across the state.”
