For years, the left-wing media have operated on a set of assumptions to suit whatever political agenda it saw fit for the moment.

However, AL(dot)com, an outlet owned by Alabama Media Group, a subsidiary of New York billionaires Donald and Samuel Newhouse's Advance Publications, is taking it to a new level.

On May 1, a near-capacity crowd filled Coleman Coliseum at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa to hear President Donald Trump deliver a commencement speech for the Class of 2025.

It's a commencement speech that faculty, students and all who attended will never forget. It's also one AL(dot)com would like to pretend never happened.

In a recent article on public records law, the outlet requested information about who leased the coliseum on May 1, referring to Trump's speech as a political "rally."

The outlet bemoaned having to wait several days to hear back from their request, which yielded no public documents. There were more commencement speeches on May 2- 3. It's unclear if AL(dot)com also requested information for those dates.

Since it was first announced in April that Trump would deliver the speech, AL(dot)com has gone out of its way to downplay the historical significance of having the first sitting president, particularly one so popular with voters in the state, give a commencement speech at the university.

The outlet emphasized that it was a "separate ticketed event prior to its graduation ceremonies," "specially arranged" after Trump tried to invite himself.
