Contrary to recent reporting on behalf of Al(dot)com, U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recently brought home nearly $95 million in appropriations from the state.
Last week, AL(dot)com reported that U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) brought $232 million in earmarks to Alabama, while Tuberville only scored $72 million. In actuality, Tuberville secured $95 million, $23 million more than reported by the media outlet.
Tuberville's earmarks include $39.7 million for infrastructure improvements at Alabama military bases, including $20 million for Fort Novosel and $19.7 million for Redstone Arsenal. Additionally, Tuberville secured $20.6 million to improve commercial navigation on Alabama's river systems and $11.9 million for Alabama law enforcement.
