The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) asked for prayers on Wednesday evening after a special agent assigned to ALEA's SWAT Team was shot during an officer-involved shooting incident.
The shooting occurred at 5:51 p.m. in the 4000 block of Longleaf Drive, in Montgomery, as ALEA SWAT and officers assigned to the Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit were working an enforcement detail.
The agent was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no word on the agent's condition.
"We ask for prayers and support for the Special Agent, their family and the members of our Agency during this time," said Cpt. Jeremy Burkett.
The case remains an active investigation.
