On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) joined fellow members of the Sharia-Free America Caucus for a press conference on the dangers Sharia law presents to the United States.
During his remarks, the legislator pointed to the Islamic takeover of Europe as a warning sign for Americans, while noting the fight against Sharia law is one to protect future generations.
"If you look at Europe now, we think this can't happen to us, right? This can't happen in America," said Moore. "They're destroying those communities, and it's now here in our backyard."
"I'm excited to be a part of this fight, and it's for our kids and our grandkids that we're doing this," he continued. "It's for our wives and our children. That's the future, and that's the fight we're in. So with that, I'll just say America has one law, that's the United States Constitution. It applies equally to every person in every case."

Moore also argued that Sharia law is "fundamentally incompatible" with the U.S. Constitution.
"Sharia law is not a religious system. It is a legal framework that, when enforced, restricts basic freedoms that Americans are given by God in our Constitution," Moore stated. "Sharia law targets women, religious minorities and political dissenters. The principles of Sharia law are fundamentally incompatible with our Constitution's rights and our legal protections under the law, due process and freedom of speech. That's what Sharia law is against."
Moore added, "No foreign religious legal code should ever influence American courts or create a parallel system of justice. Sharia law must not be allowed to override the Constitution."
U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), also a member of the Sharia-Free America Caucus, delivered remarks at the press conference as well.
