A targeted attack?
According to WAKA, Terry Craig, an Andalusia mayoral candidate, was walking his dog around 11 p.m. on Friday, July 18, when a person in a dark SUV stopped near his home and fired two shots.
Craig told the outlet the first shot came within four to six inches of his face.
Craig said he doesn’t believe the shooting was accidental.
“I think this was a targeted attack,” Craig told the outlet.
Andalusia Police Department said no injuries or property damage occurred from the shooting, WAKA.
Craig and Don Cotton are challenging incumbent Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson.
Municipal elections are on August 26.
