The greatest show in sportfishing is happening now off the coast of Orange Beach. The Blue Marlin Grand Championship is July 9-12.
It all starts and ends at The Wharf. After registration, a kickoff party will be held on Wednesday at the Orange Beach Event Center.
Boats will depart The Wharf Marina on Thursday morning, and the shotgun start from Perdido Pass will be at 11 a.m.
The final weigh-in will take place on Saturday evening, followed by a winner’s celebration at 8 p.m. Spectators may watch for free at Marlin Circle.
The championship is the culmination of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Series.
The winner of the 2024 tournament, Cooper Yancey, reeled in a 650.4-pound blue Marlin with his team, Miss Ma’am.
The tournament, presented by Pelagic High Performance Offshore Gear and Harvey Gulf International Marine, has raised over $220,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
