Coldwater Mountain Brewpub in Anniston recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to court documents filed on July 15 in the Northern District of Alabama federal court, Coldwater owes the IRS $454,437.76 in federal taxes.
The brewery also owes about $230,000 in state and local taxes. Coldwater has less than $50,000 in assets and $500,000 to $1 million in liabilities.
Coldwater is still open for business. Chapter 11 generally allows businesses to operate while paying creditors over time.
Coldwater Mountain Brewpub is an award-winning brewery, bar and restaurant founded in 2021.
An attorney representing Coldwater didn’t return a request for comment on Thursday.
