The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said removing an alligator from under a home was “just another day at the office.”

The BCSO’s Rural Crimes Unit and patrol deputies responded Tuesday after a Point Clear homeowner called about a juvenile alligator. The gator was under the home.

“Thankfully, deputies safely wrangled the little guy without incident and relocated him to the Weeks Bay Nature Preserve, where he’ll have plenty of room to enjoy a more appropriate swamp‑side lifestyle,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Deputies said they never know what the next call will bring but they were happy to help the homeowner. The homeowner, they said, was thankful, too.

The Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve is managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Estuarine Research Reserve System. It includes over 9,000 acres to promote the management of coastal habitats.
