A man who raped a child on video will not have the opportunity to victimize other children after a judge sentenced him to nearly 1,000 years in prison.
Jason Hudson was sentenced to a total of 965 years by Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Judge Amanda Baxley in Autauga County.
"Another monster behind bars forever," said District Attorney C.J. Robinson. "This case is a reminder that while evil is real and it is overwhelming at times, we still have a choice. Choose to dwell on things that are right and things that are good. Fill your time with things worthy of praise. Don't let the darkness consume you, overcome it with light."
The sentence is broken down as follows:
- 90 years for first-degree rape (victim less than 12 years of age)
- 90 years for first-degree sodomy (victim less than 12 years of age)
- 90 years for each of 5 counts of production of child pornography (filming sexual acts he committed on a child less than 17 years of age)
- 20 years for sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age
- 10 years (split to serve 3) on each of 75 counts of possession of child pornography
The sentences must run consecutively, meaning he must complete one sentence before beginning the next. WSFA was in the courtroom for sentencing. The outlet reported Hudson faced a maximum sentence of nearly 1,500 years.
Investigators with the Autauga County Sheriff's Office were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Hudson may be downloading child porn. Investigators found thousands of images on his computer showing young boys and girls being raped and tortured. They also found horrifying videos of Hudson raping a child under the age of 12.
Hudson's wife, Farren Jill Hudson, previously pleaded guilty to first-degree sodomy and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
"I am so thankful for real life heroes," Robinson said. "The victim in this case is truly a survivor who was extremely brave for coming forward and never hesitating to confront her abuser. I wish I could go back in time and prevent her from experiencing the abuse. I also wish the death penalty was available in this case."
