An aviation mishap left two Fort Rucker crew members of an Apache helicopter injured early Thursday.
The AH-64 crash occurred around 7:30 a.m., according to sources.
The crew members were taken by first responders for medical evaluation. They suffered minor injuries during routine flight training.
In 2024, one was killed and another injured during flight training at the U.S. Army installation. The incident occurred during a six-month aviation "safety stand-up" that required additional training after the Army saw 10 mishaps and 14 fatalities.
Fort Rucker hosted the International Combat Aviation Safety Summit earlier this month. The purpose of the training was to bolster safety measures regarding rotary-wing and tiltrotor combat aviation operations.
Partners from Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand attended the “Battlefield Coordination in Congested Airspace” training.
