A Boaz man is currently being held without bond in the DeKalb County Jail after police say he attempted to sexually abuse an eight-year-old girl.
German Ordonez Sales, 25, was arrested and charged with first-degree attempted sodomy and first-degree child sex abuse under the age of 12 late last week.
He was booked into the jail Thursday night, is currently held without bond, and is on hold for another agency. Frequently, this occurs with detainers for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) when determining if someone is in the country illegally.
According to court records, Sales' interview had to be conducted in Spanish. In the interview, he allegedly confessed to touching the victim on her back and neck and taking her pants off. He also removed his own pants and attempted to perform anal sex. For an undetailed reason, the assault appears to have never been completed.
Records state that Sales told the investigator that he wanted to "taste" the victim and that he wanted to "have a piece of her."
Sales is being held without bond as he awaits being placed in the custody of the agency for which he is being held.
