A Hueytown Arby’s worker was charged with assault Monday after police said she threw hot grease on a woman over the weekend.
According to the Hueytown Police Department, on Saturday afternoon, Shea Denise Peoples, who was working her shift at Arby’s at the time, dumped hot kitchen grease on a woman in her early 30s who was in the drive-thru, resulting in second-degree burns.
Hueytown Fire and Rescue provided medical treatment to the victim, who was eventually transported to UAB Hospital, where she continues to recover. Police reported no other injuries.
Peoples was taken into custody Saturday and was charged with first-degree assault on Monday. She is now being transferred to Jefferson County Jail and is held on a $30,000 bond.
