The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing death that occurred Saturday evening during a graduation party.
Deputies responded to 2640 Coy Smith Highway in Mount Vernon in reference to an altercation. Upon arrival, they discovered David Sullivan suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Sullivan was transported to the hospital, where he died.
Caleb Reed, 20, was arrested and charged with murder and second-degree assault.
Investigators determined a group of uninvited guests showed up to the party, prompting the homeowner to tell everyone to go home. That’s when the altercation broke out between Sullivan and Reed.
Deputies said Reed fled the scene initially but later returned and was taken into custody.
Reed is considered innocent until proven guilty.
