The Mobile Police Department identified the man killed Monday night in a double shooting.
Joseph Evans, Jr., 25, was found deceased between two buildings at Dauphin Gate Apartments.
Police were first called to the scene at 3250 Dauphin Street around 9:20 p.m. They found Evans and learned another gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle. The second victim had non-life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, investigators located the suspect.
Nyyon Elijah Sanders, 19, of Mobile, who was out on bond for a 2022 homicide, was apprehended during an early morning search warrant in the area of Bankhead Street and Euclid Avenue.
According to court documents, Sanders was on ankle monitoring but had allowed the battery on the device to go dead. At the time of the shooting, he was allegedly in the location where he was not allowed to be as a condition of his bond. His bond for this 2022 murder charge was revoked.
Sanders is charged with murder and first-degree robbery and is being held in the Mobile Metro Jail.
