Donald Trump is the first president "probably in my lifetime" to be concerned about domestic manufacturing, according to Stephen Wellborn, the co-owner of Wellborn Cabinet.

Wellborn Cabinet recently celebrated the completion of the company's expansion at its new First Haven Cabinetry facility. The 250,000 square-foot plant in Oxford began operations in August.

Wellborn said in an interview on the Fox News Channel's "America's Newsroom" on Thursday that the Trump administration's trade policies show they've "got our back in manufacturing."

Trump recently announced a 25% tariff on imported kitchen cabinets. That tariff is scheduled to increase to 50% on January 1.

According to Fox News correspondent Steve Harrigan, Wellborn officials believe the Trump tariffs could save not only the factory, but the town of Ashland, home of the cabinet manufacturer.

"They've got our back in manufacturing. For the first time, probably in my lifetime, do you feel that you do have someone in the Oval Office who is concerned about domestic manufacturing," Wellborn said.
